First stage of grain terminal construction completed in Sea Port of Ilyichivsk

 The Sea Commercial Port of Ilyichivsk saw opening of the first turn of construction of a grain transhipment facility constructed by Stevedoring Company JV Risoil Terminal.

 

"The building of a modern grain transhipment facility is a big step in the development of the region's infrastructure, it’s new jobs and a good example of attracting investors", said Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Oleksii Pavlenko during the opening ceremony.

 

He stressed that Risoil Terminal in the Sea Commercial Port of Ilyichivsk is the largest export and import bulk terminal in the Black Sea. The terminal is a high-profile complex of facilities for export of domestic crude sunflower oil and provides storage services for large international companies such as Cargill, Kernel, ADM and others.

 

The terminal contains a warehouse with simultaneous grain storage capacity of 30 thousand tons, equipped with car offloading, which provides opportunity to offload about 120 vehicles daily. The storage capacity is 700 thousand tons of grain per annum.

 

A silage facility consists of 13 silos with simultaneous grain storage capacity of 85 thousand tons. It is planned the construction of another 9 silos with the total capacity of 125 thousand tons, with the station of offloading railroad cars - up to 220 cars per day.

On the 10th of October Chicago witnessed the tremendous success of the concert performed by the Chicago symphonic orchestra led by the famous Ukrainian conductor Kirill Karabits. Maestro Karabits was born in Ukraine. He is the principle conductor of the UK Orchestra. In 2013 he received the prestigious musical award of the Royal Philharmonic Society. The Consul General of Ukraine Larysa Gerasko addressed the welcoming speech to the representatives of the diplomatic corps, Chicago authorities, Ukrainian community, the musicians and the other guests of the event.In her speech the Consul General emphasized the importance of promoting the Ukrainian culture, which will deepen and improve perception of Ukraine and its cultural heritage abroad. Ukraine does its best to popularize its culture, art and music. For his part Kirill Karabits expressed his gratitude to Ukraine and noted great contribution of the Ukrainian art to the world cultural heritage and developing Ukrainian state. The following day after the concert musical critic Howard Reich in the columns of the most-read daily newspaper “Chicago Tribune” designate Maestro’s performance as impressive.
