President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with representatives of factions and groups of the Verkhovna Rada in the course of which he expressed gratitude to people’s deputies for the support of his Decree on partial mobilization and for the appeal of the Parliament to the countries of the world with a demand to recognize self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics terrorist organizations.
At the same time, the President criticized those deputies who, under his words, hadn’t supported the efforts of the state in the protection of territorial integrity and sovereignty. “On one hand I am really grateful to you for the decisions made. On the other hand, I am really shocked that they had been made on the verge of critically small number of votes. The entire country is at war and 210 MPs think that the war is not their business,” the Head of State noted.
The President once again emphasized the importance of consolidation of not only society, but also all branches of power in the issues of state defense. “Today, there are things that must unite the country and I am confident that the sovereignty of our state should unite all politicians irrespective of their political preferences. The entire community must be united,” Petro Poroshenko stressed.
Commenting the appeal to global community on recognition of Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics terrorist organizations, Petro Poroshenko noted that after the given tragedy it was an extremely important issue. He expressed hope that the countries whose citizens had died in that plane crash would support Ukraine in the given issue.
