President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held phone consultations with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel.
Petro Poroshenko and Angela Merkel discussed the situation in the Donbas. The President stated substantial rollback in the implementation of the Minsk protocol, which leads to further escalation of the conflict.
The Head of State emphasizes that sending another Russian humanitarian convoy bypassing the Ukrainian border and customs control, as well as avoiding its coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross is a brutal violation of the international law, which negatively affects peaceful settlement and humanitarian situation in the Donbas. On the contrary, Ukrainian humanitarian assistance allocated for the Donbas people cannot be delivered due to the actions of the militants.
The parties have also discussed the implementation of the gas agreements reached in trilateral format EU-Russia-Ukraine. The President informed that Ukraine had paid the first tranche of its gas debt, but hadn't yet received the payment for the transit of Russian gas to the EU countries in September and October.
Petro Poroshenko and Angela Merkel negotiated further coordination of the international efforts aimed at peaceful resolution of the situation in the Donbas on the eve of the G20 Summit that is to be held in Brisbane, Australia on November 15-16.
