President of Ukraine continued phone consultations with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel

The Ukrainian President expressed gratitude to the Chancellor of Germany for the firm position of support to Ukraine demonstrated in the course of the G20 Summit in Brisbane. According to the President, Ukraine has felt a powerful support from the EU, the United States, Canada and Australia.

Petro Poroshenko and Angela Merkel have discussed the situation in the Donbas. They agreed that the continuation of the work of trilateral contact group was an important mechanism, which could ensure the fulfillment of the Minsk agreements for the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Also, President Poroshenko informed on the signature of the coalition agreement with participation of 5 pro-European parties. "New Government will be formed in Ukraine in the nearest time. It will work over the implementation of the plan of reforms," the Head of State said.

The interlocutors have discussed energy issues and the issue of the European integration. Particularly, the President of Ukraine has told about the yesterday's visit to Moldova the purpose of which has been to express support to the European integration aspirations of Moldova, which signed the Association Agreement with the EU simultaneously with Ukraine on June 27, 2014.
