President Tusk congratulated President Poroshenko on the election of the new Government in Ukraine. "We do hope that you and your Government will succeed in state reformation," he said. Petro Poroshenko expressed gratitude to Donald Tusk for supporting the idea of inviting foreign reformers to the Ukrainian Government.
The parties negotiated the attraction of the international financial assistance to Ukraine. "We are determined to implement reforms in the country and count on the financial support from the EU," President Poroshenko said.
The President of Ukraine has informed the President of the European Council on the tense situation in the occupied areas of the Donbas. The parties have also discussed the humanitarian situation in the annexed Crimea.
The interlocutors have also touched upon future bilateral meetings, particularly possible visit of the Ukrainian President to Brussels in the middle of December in the course of the European Council's session and the EPP's Summit. Poroshenko and Tusk have agreed on holding the 17th Summit Ukraine-EU in Kyiv in January-February.
