Kazakhstan supports territorial integrity of Ukraine. It was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev following the negotiations in Kyiv.
President Poroshenko has noted that he had agreed with President Nazarbayev to comply with the policy and practice of the Minsk agreements. "The position of sovereignty and territorial integrity remains inviolable," the President has emphasized. Mobilization of global efforts aimed at ensuring the peaceful process will be held on the basis of the Minsk agreements, which provide for the ceasefire, liberation of hostages, immediate withdrawal of troops and border closure with maximum involvement of the OSCE mechanism, as stated by the President.
In his turn, President Nazarbayev has noted that Kazakhstan supported the Minsk agreements. "Minsk agreements are supported by all the countries, including Russia and the European states," he said. Nursultan Nazarbayev thinks Ukraine can secure the rights of different nationalities in the framework of its state.
"I call on Russia and Ukraine to reach a compromise and resolve the situation with preservation of territorial integrity of Ukraine," the President of Kazakhstan has emphasized.
