In the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Bulgaria Pavlo Klimkin met with Prime Minister Boyko Borissov. The parties discussed actual issues of the Ukrainian-Bulgarian economic, energy, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
The Head of the Bulgarian Government was informed in details about the results of the talks in Minsk in the Normandy format, first of all, in the context of the implementation the ceasefire agreement. Our gratitude for support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and decision of the Government of Bulgaria to provide Ukraine humanitarian aid was expressed.
The Prime Minister expressed his categorical position on the solution to the crisis in Ukraine by peaceful means on the basis of the Minsk agreements. He informed about decision to establish the office for humanitarian aid to Ukrainian ethnic Bulgarians and supported the proposal of the Minister to work together with the EU on specific projects to assist the Bulgarian community in Ukraine.
Also parties agreed on a visit of Minister of energy of Bulgaria to Ukraine and to accelerate the next meeting of the Ukrainian-Bulgarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
