The Ukrainian President has thanked the United States for a strong support in the course of the today's session of the UN Security Council.

Petro Poroshenko and Joseph Biden have stated that the ceasefire regime provided for by the Minsk agreements was not fulfilled due to the constant shelling by militants, especially in the area of Debaltseve.

President Poroshenko has emphasized the need for immediate actions to stop the escalation and the disruption of the Minsk agreements. He has also urged the USA to fulfill the previous statements on the provision of additional means for the enhancement of Ukraine's defense capacity.

Vice President Biden has assured of the support towards Ukraine and agreed with President Poroshenko on the constant coordination between Ukraine, USA, Germany and France, as well as in the framework of the UN and the OSCE.
