President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held a meeting with President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski who is in Ukraine on the occasion of the memorable events devoted to the anniversary of the Revoluiton of Dignity.
The President of Ukraine has expressed gratitude to the President of Poland for his "symbolic and very important visit to Ukraine" and noted that the idea of holding the March of Dignity had been born in the course of his visit to Poland. Petro Poroshenko has informed that according to the preliminary information of the law enforcement bodies, about 100,000 citizens had taken part in the March of Dignity. "It is the same self-organization of people as on Maidan," the President emphasized.
The Head of State has informed that rallies had been held over the country. "Our enemies tried to destabilize the situation in Ukraine," the President said informing on the terrorist attack in Kharkiv. "Special Forces managed to prevent the terrorist attack in Odesa," the Head of State noted.
President Komorowski has thanked the Ukrainian President for the invitation. "I couldn't but come here on the anniversary of Maidan. It was an occasion to express Poland's solidarity with Ukraine, which is dramatically struggling for its independence," he said.
The President of Poland has also noted that participation in the March of Dignity had been an occasion for him to demonstrate support towards the European aspirations of Ukrainians.
The Presidents have discussed the situation in Donbas and the implementation of the Minsk agreements. "We support the implementation of the Minsk agreements, but we will always remind France and Germany that they have taken particular responsibility," Bronislaw Komorowski said. The Polish President has endorsed the initiative of the President of Ukraine to invite the peacekeeping mission.
The parties have also agreed to intensify cooperation between Ukraine and Poland in defense and energy spheres.
