President Petro Poroshenko and his wife Maryna have held a meeting with the Ukrainian community in Dresden.
A lot of Ukrainians with national symbols came to the hospital where the wounded Ukrainian servicemen are undergoing treatment to meet with the President.
The Head of State has expressed gratitude to the Ukrainian communtiy for the support of militaries that are undergoing treatment in Dresden. Petro Poroshenko and all the participants of the meeting have prayed for Ukraine and for the health of militaries.
"Thank you for not staying aside and helping volunteers. You are doing everything to help our warriors who defend sovereignty and integrity of the state," the President noted.
The Head of State has stressed that Ukraine was currently going through difficult challenges, but the given exam united all Ukrainians. "A real struggle for the independence of Ukraine is taking place now," Petro Poroshenko said.
The President has told about the reforms of the Ukrainian authorities and promised that he would do everything for Ukrainians to want to come back home. "We are doing everything for you to come to Ukraine more often. We are waiting for you there. Take your experience, skills and come to us," he noted.
The President has informed that Ukraine was expecting the adoption of the decision on the visa-free regime with the EU during the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga. He has also emphasized that on March 16 he would have important meetings with German leaders, inter alia, with Angela Merkel. The President has reminded that in the last 9 months, he had held over 70 meetings and phone conversations with Mrs. Chancellor. "Ukraine and Germany have never had such a close cooperation," he said noting financial support of Germany and the EU.
