"Together with our European and American partners, we will embark on detecting corruption and revealing foreign companies, accounts, cards, property outside Ukraine, those belonging to the Ukrainian officials accused of corruption conduct," said Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk at an enlarged meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine dedicated to the measures to curb corruption on Friday, March 27.
According to him, such steps are necessary "to uncover all the financial flows and to investigate criminal cases".
"The main objective now for the country is bringing to justice those who plunder the state at war," he stressed.
The Prime Minister stressed that in the framework of reforming the Ministry of Internal Affairs Minister Arsen Avakov had achieved significant results in this direction.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk expressed support to the Minister of Interior "in his efficient work aimed at upgrading the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which should be transferred into a model, exemplary European law enforcement agency – having high-quality professionals with high salaries for the militia officers and law enforcement officers, who deal with fighting organized crime and corruption, and having new approaches to serving the Ukrainian people".
The Prime Minister appealed to Arsen Avakov after analyzing the outcomes of the extended Collegium’s meeting "to give clear instructions to the Government what to do, what additional laws to adopt and what assistance to provide for the Ministry and for everyone of you who are willing to serve the people of Ukraine. Each Ukrainian citizen should feel safe, while each Ukrainian corrupt official should feel endangered".
