Foreign Ministers of the countries-participants of the Normandy format will consider the opportunity of sending peacekeepers to Ukraine, as stated by President Petro Poroshenko in the interview to "5 channel".
The President has told that at first, the reaction of the international partners to the initiative of deploying peacekeepers had been negative, because it wasn't provided for in the Minsk agreements. Still, due to the hard work of diplomats, this issue was raised for discussion. In particular, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has held consultations with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
"Peacekeepers should be deployed in the buffer area of the collision line and the border, while the OSCE should verify the compliance with the Minsk agreements all over the occupied territory," the Head of State emphasized. He is confident that cooperation with the OSCE, the increase of the mission's number and enhancement of its mandate and technical equipment will guarantee constant ceasefire, reliable withdrawal of troops and liberation of all hostages.
