At the meeting with President of the National Assembly of France Claude Bartolone, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has urged to accelerate the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

The parties stand for the enhancement of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries in the issues of legislative harmonization.

Petro Poroshenko and Claude Bartolone have discussed the situation in Donbas and noted the importance of the international solidarity in the issues of ensuring the fulfillment of the Minsk agreements by all the parties.

The Head of State has noted an important role of France and French President Francois Hollande in the peace process in Donbas and thanked the people of France for the support to Ukrainians.

In the context of Ukraine’s integration into the EU, the President of Ukraine has called for the fulfillment of the agenda of the Association and the introduction of the visa-free regime.

Petro Poroshenko has noted that the traditional values of France – “Liberté, égalité, fraternité” – had become the main European values as well.

The Head of State has also mentioned France’s support to Ukraine in the international organizations, particularly in the EU Council and the IMF.

Claude Bartolone has assured that there were allies of Ukraine in the National Assembly.

The President of Ukraine has invited the President of the National Assembly of France to make a visit to Ukraine.
