Constant violations of the Minsk agreements by militants and illegal armed groups on the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions cannot be justified, as stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
“Nobody is going to accuse uncontrolled groups of constant shelling and provocation in Maryinka, because all uncontrolled groups have been destroyed by the special forces of the Chief Intelligence Directorate,” the Head of State said at the meeting with journalists.
The President has informed that throughout the conflict, currently there was the biggest number of Russian troops concentrated along the Ukrainian border and on the occupied territories. “There has never been such a great number of troops near our borders since August 2014. There must be very important reasons for keeping such a powerful military unit there,” he said.
“It means that the threat of Russian invasion is unprecedentedly high,” the President emphasized.
That’s why Ukraine keeps approximately 50,000 servicemen in the ATO area and “Ukroboronprom” enterprises work on a three-shift basis to provide all the necessary equipment.
The Head of State is content with the level of support provided by the international partners, so-called pro-Ukrainian world coalition, particularly in the imposition and prolongation of sanctions, provision of military-technical aid and training of our Ukrainian officials.
“These processes are pretty successful. We are content with the level of increasing the defense capacity and combat capability of the Ukrainian army,” the President noted.
The President has emphasized the need to terminate the inflow of military equipment and ammunition provided by Russia for its so-called contingent on the territory of Ukraine. “It is an international crime. And Russia must be responsible for it. We have pretty much evidence of Russian troops’ presence on our territory,” Petro Poroshenko said.
