15 July 2015 17:32

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin held talks with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia Karl Erjavec.

Pavlo Klimkin informed about practical steps taken by Ukrainian authorities to settle the situation in the Eastern Ukraine, in particular to fully implement the Minsk arrangements. Ukrainian Foreign Minister also stressed that only fair and democratic elections with the participation of the OSCE could be the only way for political settlement of the current crisis.

“Slovenia goes all out in support to sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as Kyiv’ efforts to implement Minsk agreements”, - Karl Erjavec said. According to him, EU sanctions will be into effect until the peace is achieved in the Eastern Ukraine. He also noted that the issue of Nadiya Savchenko’ release would be on the agenda of the next meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council.

Having discussed Ukraine's European integration, Karl Erjavec underlined the necessity to introduce visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens.
