President Petro Poroshenko had a phone conversation with President of Poland Andrzej Duda.
The Head of State congratulated Andrzej Duda on assuming office of the President of Poland and wished his Polish colleague success in the responsible work for the welfare of the people of Poland.
The parties expressed belief that strategic partnership between Ukraine and Poland based on common European values, strong traditions of friendship and mutual trust will be further developed.
The Ukrainian President thanked Poland for consistent and firm support for Ukraine’s efforts aimed at the achievement of peace and political resolution in Donbas.
Petro Poroshenko drew attention to recent intensification of militants’ shelling of the Ukrainian positions.
In his turn, Andrzej Duda assured that Poland would remain a reliable partner of Ukraine in the issues of achieving security on the European continent and maintaining transatlantic unity in the context of the Russian aggression.
Petro Poroshenko also noted the leading role of Poland in supporting Ukraine on the track of European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
Andrzej Duda confirmed the willingness of Poland to keep supporting the introduction of pro-European reforms in Ukraine. The parties agreed that the Special Envoy of the President of Poland would soon visit Ukraine to coordinate the roadmap of bilateral political dialogue and preparations to the future Ukraine-Poland Summit.
