President Petro Poroshenko had a phone conversation with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte.
The President expressed condolences to the families of the deceased on July 17, 2014. The parties discussed the results of technical investigation into the MH-17 tragedy. In this regard, Petro Poroshenko emphasized that completion and publication of technical investigation was an important step towards bringing the perpetrators to justice.
The President has also emphasized the necessity of developing and introducing new requirements of ICAO on measures to be done in occasions of “hybrid” war, annexation of territories and related terrorist activity.
The parties discussed further joint actions on the establishment of optimal mechanism for bringing to justice the perpetrators of the MH-17 tragedy. They agreed that final decision on such mechanism would be approved on the basis of the results of criminal investigation carried out jointly by Ukraine, the Netherlands, Australia, Malaysia and Belgium.
Petro Poroshenko and Mark Rutte also shared views regarding topical issues of bilateral agenda, particularly future contacts at the highest level and ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
Mark Rutte assured of the willingness to continue providing support for Ukraine in the protection of sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also praised peacekeeping efforts of the Ukrainian President in the context of the Minsk agreements.
Petro Poroshenko thanked the Prime Minister of the Netherlands for the invitation to visit his country by the end of the year.
