On Monday, November 2, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Stephen O'Brien.
During the meeting the parties discussed the humanitarian situation in temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as issues of relevant protection, satisfying the needs and providingassistance to internally displaced persons and Ukrainian citizens residing in the ATO area.
According to Stephen O'Brien, the UN and all its structures support Ukraine and remain a reliable partnerfor our state. He evaluated the efforts of the Government of Ukraine directed to resolving the current difficult social and humanitarian problems, providing assistance to the victims and facilitating the transportation of humanitarian aid across the delimitation line.
Ukraine commends the assistance of the United Nations and relies in the future on the consolidating of the international community to render aid to the Ukrainian citizens, who suffered from the aggression of the Kremlin and became hostages to Russian terrorists, Arseniy Yatsenyuk accentuated.
The Head of Ukrainian Government called for intensifying of international pressure on the Russian leadership to ensure the implementation of the Minsk accords and surmounting any obstacle put by Russian fighters in an attempt to prevent the delivery of the Ukrainian and international humanitarian assistance to our citizens.
Separately the interlocutors discussed topical issues of the peace settlement process and practical ways to prolong cooperation.
