President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko congratulated President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the victory of the Party of Justice and Development at the early parliamentary elections held on November 1, 2015.
The parties discussed ways to develop strategic partnership between Ukraine and Turkey, particularly the implementation of agreements reached in the course of the last session of the Interstate Strategic Council of the High Level in March 2015 in Kyiv. The Turkish President invited the President of Ukraine to visit Turkey in 2016.
The interlocutors paid attention to the consolidation of efforts in confronting foreign challenges and threats. Petro Poroshenko thanked Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for supporting Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
The President of Turkey emphasized that his country would further facilitate the restoration of territorial integrity of Ukraine via diplomatic means. He has once again emphasized that Turkey did not recognize the illegal annexation of Ukrainian Crimea and thanked the President of Ukraine for his attention to the rights of Crimean Tatars on the occupied peninsula.
The parties highlighted the inadmissibility of oppression of Crimean Tatars by Russian authoritiesin Crimea. The Presidents will continue interaction in order to defend their legal rights.
Petro Poroshenko and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also coordinated efforts on the eve of the G20 Summit that will take place on November 15-16 in Antalya and, inter alia, consider the Ukrainian issue.
