Foreign Minister of Ukraine Mr. Pavlo Klimkin met in Warsaw with Mr. Krzysztof Szczerski, Secretary of State at the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland.
The two sides focused mainly on the issue of further development of political dialogue between Ukraine and Poland at the highest and high level and outlined priority tasks on the bilateral agenda.
The Polish side has underlined its continued adherence to the position that the EU sanctions imposed on Russia should be in force until full implementation of the Minsk Agreements and until complete restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders.
The sides placed particular emphasis on the importance of strengthening the EU solidarity on the energy security issue.
Krzysztof Szczerski has claimed that Ukraine’s successful European integration is a matter of strategic importance for Poland. «We are ready to continue assisting Ukraine in implementing necessary reforms by means of sharing our own experience of Poland’s European integration”, the Polish Minister said.
The sides also recognized Ukraine’s and Poland’s shared positions as regards the enhancement of multilateral cooperation in the region of the Central and Eastern Europe. «We take interest in close cooperation within the existing and in the development of the new regional initiatives to make our region demonstrate unity and solidarity in the face of challenges to our common security and stability”, Pavlo Klimkin said.
