President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a phone conversation with U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden.
The President informed the American party on the situation in Donbas and emphasized the necessity of full implementation of the Minsk agreements by Russia and pro-Russian militants, particularly in the context of liberation of hostages, withdrawal of occupation troops and provision of access to the entire territory of the occupied Donbas, as well as to the border for the OSCE.
The U.S. Vice President confirmed willingness of the United States to continue working for the full implementation of the Minsk agreements and restoration of territorial integrity of Ukraine. The parties agree on the necessity of preserving the existing international sanctions for the achievement of the above-mentioned goals.
Petro Poroshenko informed on the results of local elections in Ukraine of October 25, which confirmed Ukraine’s confident movement towards the European development.
The Head of State thanked the American party for a coherent political support, humanitarian, financial and military assistance and facilitation in the implementation of reforms, particularly in the sphere of struggle against corruption.
