President discussed establishment of international tribunal for perpetrators of MH17 tragedy with Australian Prime Minister

President Petro Poroshenko met with Prime Minister of Australia Malcolm Turnbull in Paris.

Petro Poroshenko congratulated Malcolm Turnbull on assuming the office. He emphasized the importance of further intensification of interstate cooperation.

The interlocutors paid special attention to the coordination of joint efforts on the implementation of the initiative of Australia, Belgium, the Netherlands, Malaysia and Ukraine regarding the establishment of international criminal tribunal for bringing the perpetrators of MH17 tragedy to justice.

“Ukraine will further promote criminal investigation, which is now being held, and will do everything to punish those guilty of the tragedy,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.

The President thanked Australia for its clear and continuing support for the protection of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as practical assistance in this issue.

The parties agreed to intensify trade-economic cooperation.

The President invited the Prime Minister of Australia to make a visit to Ukraine.
