At the forum of members of local parliaments from BPP Solidarity, President Petro Poroshenko noted that the key value for his party was European and Euro-Atlantic choice. "You can say it directly - the prospect of joining the EU and NATO," Petro Poroshenko said adding that the level of support for the Euro-Atlantic integration among Ukrainians had raised from 16% to 70%.
The second core value is unitarity of Ukraine, which should provide for the Ukrainian language as the only state language. It should also facilitate free development and use of other languages, first of all, Russian and English. "Our priority is to perceive the nation as a political union of all citizens irrespective of their ethnic origin, language or faith," the President noted.
Another important ideological basis is decommunization. "Not only in the form of demolition of monuments, but first of all in the form of rejection of social hatred, populism and communist state interference with economic processes," the President said. The Head of State emphasized that the inviolability of private property and free market were the basis of economic progress and social welfare.
The President believes, the party should be based on the principles of democracy and respect for human rights and freedoms of every Ukrainian citizen.
