In the course of the working visit to Brussels, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with Prime Minister of Sweden Stefan Löfven.
The President informed the Prime Minister on the security situation in Donbas and the fulfillment of the Minsk agreements.
The parties reaffirmed the importance of strengthening unity of the EU in the issue of sanctions against Russia and ensuring the restoration of territorial integrity of Ukraine within the internationally recognized borders, including Crimea.
The Head of State thanked for the assistance of the Swedish Government aimed at the reinforcement of the Ukrainian army and countering the aggression of Russia.
Significant attention was paid to the issue of the visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU. The President informed the Prime Minister on the progress of Ukraine in the fulfillment of the Visa Liberalization Action Plan.
Petro Poroshenko is confident that the EU will adopt a positive decision in this regard taking into account tomorrow's positive conclusion by the European Commission on the introduction of the visa-free regime with Ukraine.
Stefan Löfven praised the course of reforms in Ukraine and assured of further support for our country. The parties agreed to accelerate the provision of financial aid to Ukraine.
