October 23, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and United Nations System Resident Coordinator in Ukraine, Humanitarian Coordinator Osnat Lubrani took part in a ceremony of raising the UN flag near the UN Memorial Stone in Kyiv’s Navodnyskyi Park on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the United Nations.

In his speech, Dmytro Kuleba assured that Ukraine is unconditionally committed to the UN Charter and consistently promotes respect for the rule of law, takes an active part in UN peacekeeping operations, makes an important contribution to human rights, disarmament and sustainable development.

"More than 300 Ukrainian men and women currently serve in six UN peacekeeping operations. Also, the UN demonstrates a constant support of Ukraine, in particular in the context of Russia's aggression against our country", said the Minister.

The Ukrainian diplomat emphasized that our state remains committed to fully supporting the United Nations’ important mission by promoting justice and equality in the world.

"As a member of the United Nations, we will continue to struggle together for justice. After all, this is exactly what the UN exists for: to build a just world. Together with the UN - to a just peace in a just world", he said.

Dmytro Kuleba expressed gratitude to the UN for its support of Ukraine: “Last year alone, the UN organizations provided $145 million in international technical assistance to Ukraine. Moreover, the organization mobilized more than half a billion US dollars for humanitarian activities in Ukraine".

Summarizing his address, the Minister drew attention to a destructive behavior of the Russian Federation: “As the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, I have many questions to the UN Security Council, where Russia, as a permanent member, allows itself to mock the principles of the United Nations. However, I have no questions to the UN in general, because it is a reliable friend and partner of Ukraine".
