The U.S. President expressed support to the actions of the Ukrainian President, particularly, to his initiative on the international humanitarian mission for Luhansk under the aegis of the International Committee of the Red Cross with participation of the EU, Russia, Germany and other partners. Petro Poroshenko expressed gratitude to the United States for the initiative of both parties in the U.S. House of Representatives to propose Ukraine Security Assistance Act which, according to the President of Ukraine, was an evidence of efficient support of the United States to Ukraine. President Poroshenko expressed hope that the given Act would be supported by congressmen and senators as well as signed by the U.S. President already in the nearest time.
Petro Poroshenko and Barack Obama discussed issues of security in the ATO area.
The Presidents agreed to have a bilateral meeting in the course of the NATO summit that will be held on September 4-5, in Newport, Wales, Great Britain.
