02 February 2015 20:09

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held a phone conversation with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and President of France Francois Hollande.

Petro Poroshenko, Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande insist on the immediate and unconditional ceasefire, for the escalation is being continued and the number of victims among civilians is growing.

The parties stand for the return to all items of the Minsk agreements, for they are the only basis of the peaceful settlement in the Donbas.

It has also been agreed that there could be no preliminary conditions for the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group.

Petro Poroshenko, Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande have expressed regret over the absence of progress following the last meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk. President Poroshenko has underlined the necessity of Russia's official response to the disruption of the Trilateral Contact Group's work, for it is a signatory of the Minsk agreements.

The parties have also agreed to continue close coordination of further actions aimed at peaceful resolution of the situation in the East of Ukraine.
