Petro Poroshenko and Donald Tusk have discussed the situation in the Donbas. President Poroshenko has informed on the escalation of the conflict and the artillery shelling of Kramatorsk, which ended up with dozens of Ukrainian civilians and militaries murdered and wounded.
The Head of State has emphasized that the escalation of the conflict required more decisive actions in support of Ukraine from the world community, including consolidated position of the EU. At the same time, the President is hopeful that the situation would be resolved via diplomatic negotiations and political support at the meeting in the Normandy format in Minsk on February 11.
President Tusk has invited President Poroshenko to participate in the European Council's session in Brussels on Thursday, February 12, to discuss the situation and coordinate future steps.
