President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held a phone conversation with UK Prime Minister David Cameron.
The parties have discussed the situation in the Donbas after the declaration of the ceasefire at midnight of February 15. President Poroshenko has emphasized that permanent and comprehensive ceasefire along the entire collision line was necessary for the further withdrawal of heavy weaponry.
Petro Poroshenko has also expressed gratitude to David Cameron for his personal support at the European Council's session in Brussels on February 12 and a strong position of Great Britain in support of Ukraine laid down in the recent resolution of G7.
David Cameron has assured Petro Poroshenko that the UK was ready to further stand for the unity of the European Union regarding the sanctions against Russia in case the Minsk agreements wouldn't be fulfilled. He has also emphasized that Ukraine could count on the support of the UK in the UN Security Council.
The interlocutors have agreed on close coordination of further efforts for the peaceful resolution in Donbas.
