On Thursday, February 26, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with the president of the International Committee of the Red Cross Peter Maurer.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine expressed concern over «the actions of Russia terrorists on the territory of Ukraine: «As it was expected, President Putin and the Russian terrorists had violated the Minsk agreement».
Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that the people, who now live in temporarily uncontrollable by the Ukraine territories, have become victims of these terrorists. "Our common goal is to provide humanitarian assistance to those who live in these regions," he said, noting that he relies on the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
«The Ukrainian Government has done everything possible: from the supplying of gas and electricity to the providing humanitarian assistance», he said.
The Russian terrorists, Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed, do not pass the Ukrainian humanitarian assistance through the line of contact. The Prime Minister appealed to the president of the International Committee of the Red Cross for the support of Government efforts to overcome this problem.
Arseniy Yatseniuk also informed that he was going to introduce a new draft law on the State budget in the Ukrainian Parliament, which increases expenses for assistance to internally displaced persons.
«It is a humanitarian catastrophe caused by the Russian aggression. We need your help, including financial. After all, those who have left their permanent residence, are suffering and the Government is doing everything to support these people," the Prime Minister of Ukraine stressed.
