The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is resolute to improve anti-corruption law, conducting inspections of the activities of government officials, state-owned enterprises and their management.
The Government of Ukraine has set up a National Anti-Corrutpion Agency and during the recent Cabinet’s meeting the Ministers approved a procedure of transparent and open competition to fill the posts in the Agency.
“The Commission to select candidates shall include representatives from the Verkhovna Rada, the Presidential Administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, the National Agency on Civil Service, as well as from four non-governmental organizations working in this area", informed Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Hanna Onyshchenko at a briefing following the Government’s session.
Besides, in the framework of anti-corruption measures the Government of Ukraine has launched an internal investigation into the activities of leadership of a number of government agencies and state-owned enterprises, energy facilities. Verification procedures follow the principles of maximum openness and exceptional compliance with the law.
At the recent Cabinet’s meeting Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk highlighted that the Government of Ukraine “has given clear and strict instructions to ensure the true fight against corruption within the country": "Any attempt to plunder the country and abdicate responsibility is doomed”.
