On June 22, the Day of Grief and Commemoration of the War Victims in Ukraine, President Petro Poroshenko together with veterans and ATO participants paid tribute to the warriors who defended the state in the World War II.
The participants of the ceremony of laying flowers to the Grave of the Unknown Soldier in the Park of Glory honored the memory of the deceased with a moment of silence. The Warriors of the Honor Guard saluted from personal weapons and marched solemnly.
The ceremony was also attended by Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Kyiv CSA Head Vitali Klitschko, Kyiv RSA Head Volodymyr Shandra, Presidents of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma (1994-2005) and Viktor Yushchenko (2005-1020), government officials, MPs, representatives of the Presidential Administration and public figures.
Upon completion of the event, the President had a brief conversation with veterans.
