President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte.
The Head of State expressed his condolences to the people of the Netherlands on the anniversary of the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 disaster. "Today as a year ago our nation expresses moral disapproval of this tragedy and would like to support and send our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who were killed," the President said.
Petro Poroshenko and Mark Rutte discussed the accident investigation status and agreed to take all steps required to implement the joint initiative of Australia, Belgium, Malaysia, the Netherlands, and Ukraine on the International Criminal Tribunal to prosecute the perpetrators of crimes related to the downing the downing of Flight MH17.
In this context, it was agreed that the Heads of Foreign Ministries of the five countries should agree on joint steps to help approve the Draft Resolution and the Charter of the Tribunal at the UN Security Council.
Petro Poroshenko and Mark Rutte stressed that the crime represented a threat to peace and international security in general, which should be investigated properly, and the perpetrators should be punished. "This is the case when impunity sets a dangerous precedent," the President of Ukraine said.
