President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a phone conversation with US Vice President Joseph Biden.

The Head of State confirmed the strict implementation of the Minsk agreements by Ukraine and stressed the importance of their proper implementation by all the parties concerned, especially the complete ceasefire, heavy weapons withdrawal, hostages’ release provisions.

The Head of State told about the steps Ukraine’s towards the decentralization, and relevant amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine as well as its preparations for the local elections.

The Vice President welcomed the Ukrainian Parliament’s decision to launch the constitutional reform and confirmed the US stance on ensuring full support to Ukraine in terms of the situation in Donbas.

Joseph Biden said that the United States would continue to assist Ukraine in defending its independence and territorial integrity, strengthening national defence, maintaining economic stability, energy security, and the European integration reforms.
