President took part in the prayer for Ukraine
On the Independence Day, President Petro Poroshenko and his family - wife Maryna, children Oleksandra, Yevheniya and Mykhailo - took part in the "Prayer for Ukraine". In St. Sophia's Cathedral primates of churches and religious organizations uttered prayers for our state. They asked peace and prosperity for Ukraine and God's protection and blessing for those who defend the state.

The prayers were uttered by Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus'-Ukraine Filaret; Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Onufriy; Patriarch of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Sviatoslav Shevchuk; Bishop Ilarion of Edmonton and the Western Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada; Roman Catholic Archbishop of Kyiv-Zhytomyr Petro Malchuk; Chief Rabbi of the Association of Jewish Religious Organizations Yaakov Dov Bleich; Mufti of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Ukraine Tamim Ahmed; President of the Ukrainian Bible Society Hryhoriy Komendant.
Together with the President's family, the prayer was attended by Chairman of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine VOlodymyr Groysman, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov.
