President keeps receiving congratulations on the Independence Day

President Petro Poroshenko keeps receiving congratulations on the Independence Day from the foreign leaders, who wish prosperity and welfare to the people of Ukraine.

The Heads of State also hope for the further development of strategic relations between our countries on the basis of mutual understanding. Foreign leaders are willing to strengthen friendly relations jointly.

The majority of greetings pay special attention to the issue of peace in the country. The President of Italy expressed hope for the settlement of the situation in the nearest time. "I sincerely hope that the crisis that suppresses Ukraine will soon be overcome and it will let the country move towards peace, stability, economic and social growth. Italy supports Kyiv in the implementation of the Minsk agreements that pave the way towards the cessation of hostilities and the creation of conditions for safe and peaceful coexistence in the country and the entire region," Sergio Mattarella noted.

The President of Slovakia is hopeful that the Independence Day will become an occasion for the citizens of Ukraine to look back at the difficult path, which the state had to go through in an attempt to build free, democratic and prosperous country. "In the course of my recent visit, I had another opportunity to see the aspiration of Ukrainians to develop their country, continue the implementation of complex reforms and prove that Ukraine rightfully belongs to the European Union. I am confident that your country should get the same chance as Slovakia to move the European way," Andrej Kiska said assuring of his support for Ukraine on the given track.

The President of Estonia is glad that relations between Ukraine and the European Union become closer step by step. "The signature of the Association Agreement and DCFTA demonstrated seriousness of intentions in this context. I wish you success in its rapid and effective implementation next year," he noted.

Toomas Hendrik Ilves also wished Ukraine "strength, decisiveness and determination in the reinforcement of independence and territorial integrity, which is a cornerstone of safety in Europe". "Difficult situation in the sphere of security will not make us change the course. On the contrary, we will advance even more resolutely. The Minsk agreements must be fulfilled and Ukraine must restore control over its borders," he emphasized adding that Estonia remains one of the closest allies and partners of Ukraine.

Greetings were also received from the Presidents of Croatia, Ireland, Portugal, Austria, India, Singapore, Algeria, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Mexico, Korea and Indonesia; the Kings of Sweden, Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands; the First Deputy Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia.
