Following the Ukrainian-Kazakh negotiations, President Petro Poroshenko stated that Kazakhstan was one of the closest partners for Ukraine.
“It was demonstrated today that Kazakhstan is a “window to Asia” for Ukraine; and I hope that Ukraine is a “window to Europe” for Kazakhstan. We have an immense potential of bilateral relations in economic, political, humanitarian, social and other spheres,” the Head of State noted at the meeting with journalists.
Petro Poroshenko called the negotiations substantial, practical and efficient. “The results of our meeting open a new, extremely important page of Ukrainian-Kazakh cooperation,” the President said.
The Head of State pointed out political dialogue between the two countries and thanked for Kazakhstan’s firm and unwavering support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty within the internationally recognized borders. “It is crucially important today, when Ukraine is an object of aggression of our common neighbor – the Russian Federation. Russia annexed the Ukrainian Crimea and invaded Donbas. Over 8 thousand Ukrainians fell victims to this aggression,” the President emphasized.
Petro Poroshenko praised the statement by Nursultan Nazarbayev at the UN General Assembly, particularly on the necessity of strict observance of the international law in relations between states.
The President noted that the parties had confirmed mutual willingness to expand bilateral cooperation, first of all, in trade-economic and investment spheres.
