In the framework of the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyễn Tấn Dũng.
The parties discussed joint actions aimed to intensify political dialogue and enhance trade-economic relations between Ukraine and Vietnam. It particularly went about the ways to use the potential of two countries for increasing the volume of trade and investment. The parties agreed on holding a session of joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation in 2016 in Kyiv.
Petro Poroshenko and Nguyễn Tấn Dũng discussed topical issues of Ukraine-Vietnam cooperation on the world arena, particularly in the context of Ukraine's non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council.
Nguyễn Tấn Dũng supported the aspiration of Ukraine to join Asia-Europe Forum.
The Head of State drew special attention to the importance of expanding pro-Ukrainian coalition among Southeast Asian states.
Petro Poroshenko conveyed invitation to President of Vietnam Trương Tấn Sang to visit Ukraine.
"I am sure this visit would give a boost to the development of comprehensive cooperation and partnership between the two countries," the President emphasized.
Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng invited the President of Ukraine to visit Vietnam.
